Planning a trip to Yangshuo? This is the place that made me fall in love with China back in 2018 when I visited for the first time, and this year I went back again to revive those memories.
I stayed in two beautiful hotels and would like to share my experiences: one right on the Yulong River, and another with stylish rooms and breathtaking mountain views.
Why Stay in Yangshuo?
Yangshuo is one of the most beautiful places in China, surrounded by iconic karst mountains, the Yulong River, and numerous scenic spots. It’s the perfect destination if you love nature, slow travel, and unforgettable landscapes.
But a big part of the Yangshuo experience is where you stay. Here I am sharing the two hotels I stayed in and my personal experience.
Yangshuo Hotel 1: Riverfront Serenity
My first stay was at Yangshuo Yuyuan Resort. (View hotel on Trip.com)
What makes this hotel special is its location, right in front of the Yulong River. I woke up with the most incredible view of the mountains, and you can see the bamboo rafting from the window. Some rooms come with terraces, soaking tubs and big, bright windows.
The staff here were so warm and attentive. They helped me with local tips, from renting a scooter to ordering some Taobao packages. And honestly, I could have spent all day at the hotel itself, swimming in the pool, relaxing on the lawn, or simply enjoying the mountain-and-river views.
If you’re searching for a Yangshuo river view hotel, this one is perfect.
Yangshuo Hotel 2: Stylish Rooms with Mountain Views
The second place I stayed, the LS Hotel, offered a different kind of charm. (View hotel on Trip.com)
This hotel isn’t right on the water, but the mountain views from the rooms are amazing. With floor-to-ceiling windows, modern design, and some rooms with a rotating bed, it's kind of fun! And the hotel has some photogenic spots.
What I loved most here was simply relaxing in my room, watching the karst peaks change colours as the sun set. They have a really good coffee and some afternoon tea!
The staff were welcoming, and they also provide shuttle service if you want to head into the busier parts of Yangshuo.
If you look for a hotel with wonderful views of the mountains, LS Hotel is an amazing choice, and the property is huge.
My Verdict
Both hotels were wonderful, but for different moods:
-Yangshuo Yuyuan Resort → best for river views and being right next to the water.
-LS Hotel → best for stylish rooms and panoramic mountain scenery.
What both had in common was the warm hospitality that made my stay unforgettable.
